I thought so also, but the cabin crew said it was introduced this week and is the standard service moving forward. Very apologetic crew, and it was mildly entertaining watching them deal with their boredom-looking at walls, out windows, etc...
Letter will be soon posted with my complaint. I think they should know that there is nopw quite a bit differentiating BA from KL now.
And yes, the milk is rubbish on KL, but I can still get a tomato juice or wine. Oh, and KL have introduced milk for tea/coffee on longer s/h routes (had it to Moscow).
