MY opinion: Far from worth it. It's 8.7 cents/elite mile, which is a horrible return. If you're a few miles below a threshold and can use the elite maximizer to bump up instead of a trip, then it *might* be worth it. However, you should be able to easily get routes for cheaper than that.

For example, I have to make a work trip to SFO and was able to route: IAH-SEA-SFO-EWR-RDU-CLE-MDT-EWR-IAH for about $500. It nets over 8500 EQM (and over 18k spending miles). With more flexibility or other routing, I'm sure I could lower that $/mile, but my work in SFO (and time to be home) is fixed.
