Your interpretation is correct. However, please keep in mind that different Schengen states have slightly different interpretations of how to calculate the 90 days. Some only use day of arrival and not day of departure (hence arrival Sunday departure Monday = 1 day), while others calculate both arrival and departure (hence arrival Sunday departure Monday = 2 days). So if you are coming very close to the 90 in 180 limitation, I would suggest you use the latter interpretation to be on the safe side.
