It wasn't "a" foreign language - it was "the" language and "who" was speaking it. Arab men speaking another language to each other can, apparently, be interpreted by flight crews and dipsh** passengers to mean:

"Ahmed, I will give you the secret signal when to jump up and stab the flight attendant and then I will detonate the bomb! Thanks to Allah none of these dimwitted Americans can understand what we're saying"

Of course the correct translation was probably something like:

"Holy crap is it humid in this horrible place, and the traffic! Don't these people know how to drive?? With any luck, I'll be back in the desert next year and can stop sweating in this damn humidity"
