I personally experienced something similar on trAAsh (in hindsight, I should have brought suit, but I didn't think I had a solid case nor the legal budget of someone employed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)

Anyway, we haven't heard CO's side of the story, but in my opinion the FA should have backed down, upon presentation of official credentials.

We only have one side of the story.

Then there was a group of entertainers touring the US from Syria, who had traveled on a number of domestic flights prior to running into racist passengers who had them removed. There was also a special needs Saudi Arabian teenager (deaf and mute) who was communicating in sign language with his traveling companion - again, bounced following complaints by racist passengers. A Pakistani military delegation who were on their way to a meeting with their American counterparts were removed from a flight because a white female passenger had concerns about their presence. Recently, there was the recent case of a Muslim family from Dallas that a racist FA decided were a threat - the plane landed in MEM, the family were removed and the aircraft continued on with the racist FA.

I myself have been removed from both a CO and a UA flight, once as a result of concern over an itinerary and once due to a complaint by a racist passenger who I actually helped by placing her bag in the overhead Other FTers have also had similar experiences.
The OP made it sound like this type of action was common on UA, when one can see it happens on a wide variety of airlines, regretfully including UA and CO.
