Type SYD-ACC into da bomb and get $US10,246 for April RT lowest coach.

Now even I can see that is insane, so do 2 searches for same dates and get

SYD-IAD $US1,507, and IAD-ACC for $1,235.

Da bomb gives more than 5 times higher.

Now we all know that IAD-LAX-LAS will often price higher than IAD-LAX etc, but how on earth can 2 fares added together get to be 5 or 6 times higher?
You will find this same thing happen on occasion when you start in a NON north american city and transit through the US to your ultimate destination. They don't publish fares for every single route combination, thus when you go to fare construction you see them itemized with huge numbers as they aren't combinable.

I have come across this when pricing bkk-gig or dxb-sin both with the connection in the US somewhere. If you do get it to price it will almost always be a Y/B fare as a result which gives you the huge costs.

For the record I could never grow "sick" of UA's same old destinations. But to each his own.
