Vegas in July is fine - temperatures across the region are usually in the high 90s and Low 100s, which is fine if you don't spend all day in direct sunlight. This is no different than many other tourist areas of the United States in Mid July.
And, just to dispell a myth, you do not get a cold from cold air/ac and temperature shocks. You catch a cold from having a weak immune system.
