I made the mistake last summer of waiting for our TATL flights last summer to drop in price from looking 6 months out. I ended up paying £200 more about a month before as the drop I had assumed would come, never did.

Previous experience of mine before that was the same as that mentioned by Jetstreamer, but after last summer I couldn't confidently recommend it to anyone now. I suspect you might save a little bit via a flight sale, but I'm not sure it will necessarily be a considerable amount. As always, it's a case of doing what you are happy with. If you can stomach the current prices, then at least you are locked in and sorted. If you want to wait, then you can, but there are no guarantees as I found out the hard way.
