I have a friend named* Mark Johnson who worked for the "Building Infrastructure Unit" of a company. He spent an hour at a hotel check-in desk in Munich insisting that he had a reservation, while the hotel clerk insisted that there was NO reservation for Mark Johnson. Eventually the hotel clerk found a reservation for a "Herr Building Infrastructure Unit".

We still call him "Bill" sometimes.

*Names changed to protect the innocent, but he had a familiar first name with no likely nicknames, a very common surname, and his group's name was composed of ordinary nouns. It really was Munich, though.
