Not everyone gets the 'single room' on a Priceline bid
Seems to be a special of the SF St. Francis, they try to sell the "real rooms" for an extra $30.
Anyways, it's a risk with Priceline that everyone takes. That's why I believe that the Priceline stays better be ridiculously priced to offset the chance that one might receive a less-preferred room type.
Smile lots and lots at check-in time.

Sure, when booking with priceline I do not exspect an Ocean view etc, but priceline guanrantees me a room, which accommodates two adults comfortably. And priceline offers certain star levels, which imply certain levels of comfort. And a real small bed for two persons does neither meet the criteria of a 4 star hotel nor the criteria of accommodating two adults comfortably.
