The very first time I bought coins was back in late 2009 when I went all out and bought $15,000 all at once. That was a trip! I actually wrote a whole story out because it's kind of fun:

Now that the mint limits transactions to $1,000, I just rotate $1,000 deposits between the 3 chase branches near me and all seems to go fine, although the tellers *always* want to know where they came from, so I'm glad I saw this thread. Gave me a few new ideas! I just say I'm a collector. I'm surprised no one's asked me why the coins are never unrolled. I guess they don't actually care that much.
