Well, wifey is flying FC LAX-HKG. She called me from the lounge to say that there was a loud, unruly 3 year old running about and the parents were doing little to control the "lil ......." (my words, not hers). A bit later she called from the plane and, sure 'nuff, the family is on her flight (also in F) and the kid is already making his presence known. She's on a 777-300ER not an A380 so while the individual seats are quite spacious, you can't just close a door to isolate yourself from the rest of the cabin.

She's not shy about complaining to the parents and/or FA's but, realistically, there's little the FAs can do about an overly stimulated or just plain spoiled kid and, given the kid's behaviour in the lounge, I suspect there's little the parents will do either.

I think she's in for a very long 15 hr flight... and I'm in for a very long "trip report" afterwards. Why oh why did they outlaw laudnum? Why oh why was I not born rich enough to be able to own a TPAC capable plane or, at least, rent one on a moment's whim.
