It's not only what we eat, but portion size...of which I'm often guilty.

re: vegetables. As a kid, I didn't like vegetables that much...but I definitely ate a lot more of them compared to the average American. My Cantonese mom cooked tons of leafy, green Chinese vegetables.

Now as an adult, I eat meat a few times a week, with the rest mostly vegetables and grains. Properly prepared vegetables taste great. Few things can beat steamed summer white corn-on-the-cob. yum

It's sad that most people these days don't have the time and willingness to cook healthy food for themselves or their family.
