I am not really into acronyms myself, but you kind of get caught up in it here on FlyerTalk and it is hard to stop.

There is a Glossary under the Help Tab on the FlyerTalk homepage; http://www.flyertalk.com/glossary/ which you may find useful when you come up against this in the future. Although I see the term LCC isn't contained in the Glossary so it wouldn't have helped for that.

In any case kraftdinner_ answered your question. All I was trying to say was that if you end up having to make your stopover in SIN instead of HKG there are a number of Asian low cost carriers that can get you around the area economically.
