Sheraton Westin Riverwalk was incredible

Due to a family emergency/tragedy my wife and I had to make tracks for San Antonio on Thursday of this past week. Thanks to the Spurs playoffs all the hotels downtown were full up and I didn't particularly want to stay near the airport so I called the Westin to see what they could do. Vanessa the front desk manager managed to get me a room (at rack rate but I wasn't complaining) and even got me an upgrade to a junior suite. From the moment I arrived the hotel truly pampered us. The bellmen were very fast and *very* courteous, valets as well. I was offered the amenity list at check in (naturally I chose the 500 points) and our room was on the top floor 'executive level' of the hotel. The only thing missing was a river view. Vanessa apologized but as she said 'a team and their support staff are staying with us as well as quite a few fans' I completely understood.

Roomservice was lightning fast, the workout facility was beautiful and I never had to wait once for our car.... the valet had it brought around by the time we made it downstairs (I always forget to call until just before leaving the room so this is a feat). All in all this property just cannot be beat. I stayed there when they first opened and they were having a few service issues but all that seems to have been cleared up and then some. This property is *very* highly recommended and IMHO it's the nicest hotel downtown.

P.S. If you do stay there, ask the concierge for directions to El Mirador... you've never had such incredible Mexican food. Make sure you order the salad with the raspberry dressing, it should be a dessert!
