Unless you MUST stay with an IHG hotel, I would choose a local one that is truly inside the Old City.
IC is on the same part of Istanbul (European) as the Old City, and is around 5 miles away. This is relatively a small distance for a city that spans over a 60-mile diameter! Anyway, it's not convenient for a leaving bags after check-out for later pick-up.
