I wouldn't take that gamble.
Except for very short term promotions, can anyone provide an example of when a conversion rate improved? I've tracked my conversion ratios over the last 15 years for the Southwest Visa, Diners Club, Choice Hotels, Amtrak*, etc, and it has always moved it one direction: worse.
* For us old-timers, Amtrak once went back and retroactively reversed some conversions into Southwest credits after too many people took advantage of a very, very beneficial conversion scheme.
