FYI, G-YMMC is actually one of the newer 777s, being part of a batch delivered from 2000 onwards (the clue is in the registration). What matters with BA, who generally buy their aircraft new and keep them for 20+ years, is the length of time an aircraft has been in service since the last major overhaul at Cardiff (the BA maintenance centre).
For example, as posted elsewhere, I flew on G-ZZZA and G-ZZZB last month (respectively the 6th and 10th 777s off the line, delivered 1995-97) and they are in excellent condition inside - seats, decor, lavs etc. Obviously just back from Cardiff. I imagine certain G-VII* frames (delivered 96-99) are in a similar state.
The newest 777s are MR, MS, MT (2009) and the new -300s - STBA, BB, BC (2010).
