Thanks for all the post, I didn't see those pain in the butt stories of not getting SPG points for sign-ups. I guess i have some more reading/research to do =). I'll chug along for now with my PPE card and maybe sign up for SPG later. I'll keep using my TYN points for my hotels and my AA points for my flights. Was just seeing if SPG can replace my TYN points.
