A++++

My partner and I had the pleasure of meeting Alex at his wine shop over the holidays. He spent some time educating us novices and provided us with a glass (or 2!) of a great Malbec while we chatted. Alex is very knowledgeable about wines and provided some great recommendations. We had already come from Mendoza where we picked up a few bottles on a wine tour and we were very pleased with his recommendations for a few more bottles from his shop. He staff expertly packed a case of 6 bottles for check-in on Air Canada and we arrived in Toronto and cleared customs with no problem. We were 2 bottles over the duty free limit, but the officer let us through without paying duty on the extra 2 bottles. Alex's restaurant recommendations were outstanding as well: Puratierra and Oviedo.

I could have stayed a drank wine in his shop all day...oh well, next time.

His shop has a very "inviting" and comfortable feeling that makes you want to stay and linger, which may have a draining effect on your wallet , but certainly worth it IMHO. Highly recommended that one take some time to stop by his shop while in Buenos Aires, you won't be disappointed.
