My parents are pretty good about taking down the window candles, door wreath, etc. ...but many, MANY have been the years when I come home for spring break and the tree is still there, just waiting to start a fire. It usually takes the threat of impending Easter to get them to get rid of it.

(And of course, at that point, they have to do so under cover of night, and my dad has to put it in the back of the pickup truck and drive it to some anonymous dumpster. Clearly they can't put it out on the tree lawn with the recycling...if they plan on showing their faces on the street ever again )
