More seriously, it often makes good business sense to devalue in-line with your competitors - except in areas where it will affect customers who are both profitable and fickle.

This is good to hear. We have certainly been here before,
eg this thread started before the last improvements (in the form of points non-expiry and partner card etc). See also
this thread of rampant speculation of a new tier.
Changes are certainly welcome as there are a number of members here who easily do 1,000 SP in domestic flights a year. Also I understand that a little while ago a member here has had difficulty getting status points credited about the 2,500 threshold as staff could see little value in doing the work.
