Long haul TATL or TPAC will likely be twice the price of cheap transcons, with practically zero chance for upgrades and no opportunity to step off a plane for 10-15 hours.
You can accelerate the earnings with AmEx or premium fare purchases, but the difference between int'l and domestic isn't substantial with respect to the amount of time you're going to park your butt in a seat.
