Connecting at YYZ
Hi guys, sorry if these questions have been asked before, but just wondering a couple of things about an upcoming trip I have with AC ZRH-YYZ (overnight)-MIA (stop) -YYZ-ZRH in L.
I'm flying on AC916 YYZ to MIA, which departs Pearson at 11:30am. How long before departure should I plan on being at Check-in for a late morning Transborder Flight (I'm flying on a Friday at the end of February, if that makes any difference)? I'm *Silver with LH, so I don't expect to be entitled to use a Fast Track lane for security.
Is it worth showing up an hour or so earlier (assuming I don't have to be at Pearson at 8am, anyway) and paying $35 to go to the MLL and get some food before taking on the Onboard Cafe?
Also, on the way back, I'm on AC919 arriving at 18:43 and AC878 leaving at 20:50, so have 2 Hours 7 minutes to make the connection. This doesn't overly worry me, but do I have to claim my luggage to go through CBP, or is that just a formality (I've had the experience of connecting Int-Int at LAX before, so everything's got to be easier than *take bag off conveyor belt*clear US Immigration*walk through Homeland security*put bag back on conveyor belt*)?
Acording to flightstats.com, however, AC919 is frequently delayed, so what should I expect from AC if I miss the Connection? to be rebooked automatically to ZRH the same night (There are AC Flights to LHR and FRA leaving around 11pm, and both destinations have LX/AC Codeshare Flights to Zurich), or to have to stay a night in Toronto and get the same flight the next day?
Oh, one last thing... is it possible to get an Amadeus PNR to add to my Lufthansa upcoming Flights list, or is the AC Booking reference all I'll get if I call AC and ask?
