I could concur withcircusboy in so far that the A77 is particularly unpleasant on a dark wet February night when you're stuck behind a convoy of lorries throwing up all manner of grit and dirt. However during a clear day and from a bus/train where you're not stressed about driving, there are some gloroius views of the Ailsa Craig.
