We've stayed at the Westin Maui for 3 yrs running.

With kids, it's the way to stay. The pool and grounds are designed so that if you are into relaxing, you can get that done in the adults area. If you want to rock with the kids, the slide and active pools are great. The Keiki Kamp (kids camp) staff is top notch.

For snorkeling we walk to Black Rock (right in front of the Sheraton) 5 minutes. The Sheraton is laid back but when you've had too much sun, shade is spotty compared to the Westin.
