Much more efficient than hanging up and calling back, especially since calling back doesn't necessarily assure you'll get the EXP desk.

brp is right, too... plenty of non-EXP agents are plenty sharp. Unless you know you're about to need some EXP-love, there's no point in being transferred right away.
Yeah I am in this camp also. About the only times I ever call is when using an SWU or booking an award involving a partner.

As my awards are always complicated oneworld awards there are exp agents who will need to get assistance to help them if the award is going to involve a partner where they need to use the QUIK-RES system. Only a long time agent is going to have familarity with that system.

Actually had one exp agent say to me "How do you know about that system." Mumbled something about another agent telling me about it when doing a previous award. Didn't bother saying that my teacher was FT. She did explain to me that a new agent receives less than an hour or so orientation to its use but that was information I already knew. She had to get assistance to complete my itinerary. She actually called for the MOD to assist. ((Manager on Duty)
