The only Ayrshire port is Troon. Glasgow to Troon is an inland freeway the entire way, not particularly pretty. Once you get down past Ayr in South Ayrshire [heading towards Stranraer/Cairnryan ports] it becomes coast looking over the water to assorted islands & then eventually N.Ireland in the distance.
Sorry, my bad - yes one in Ayrshire and the other two in Dumfries & Galloway or whatever they are calling that part of the country these days. Must be my East Coast bias - I tend to lump the whole coast south of Glasgow as "Ayrshire".
