Bear in mind the Londonderry service is from Prestwick rather than Glasgow, so if you are planning on dropping off a rental car this may add cost or complication.
I've never had an issue with Flybe and have generally had ok experiences with easyJet. Compared to US domestic services, FlyBe is probably better and easyJet on par. Ryanair I avoid for all the reasons you mentioned.
