That would be my interpretation as well.....rather unfair but BA do seem to be sticking to the rules nowadays and I suppose you can't blame them.

As for DYKWIA situation. I suspect BA will tell you that they had the obligation to get you to your destination. As you didn't hang about long enough to find out then they don't owe you anything. What happened to the other passengers from the flight? Were they just dumped in DUB and left to fend for themselves?
