They did call back. The agent told me that she was Delta/KLM and that the bag was handed over to Airfrance in Paris, so she didn't know anything about it. She did, however give me the number for the Airfrance Baggage department: 1-800-873-2247. A call to them late at night resulted in a message indicating they don't open until 9:00 am Eastern US time. So I got up at 6:00 Pacific time and tried to call them. The phone went to a pre-recording indicating that due to extremely high call volumes, Airfrance is not answering the phone at this time.
Nice operation. When people really need help and clarification, Airfrance cuts back on service. Does this mean they offer better service when very few people are travelling? The inability to reach them speaks volumes about their management perspective. It won't happen again. We won't give them a chance.
I just spent 2 1/2 weeks with my gf, sister and 6 month old nephew without luggage in Germany @ an average temperature of 20F with all luggage lost at CDG. They told us that each of us can buy stuff for 100 Euros. A budget for 1/3rd of a winter coat for each of us. It's been an interesting trip. AF did answer the phones until about a week ago, no answering since under the German number
