Looks like battery life will be reasonable, but the reception problem is still...well...problematic. Notice that none of the marketing pics show the unwieldy single pole antenna that you'll need to extend to get a signal.

I picked up some of the Haier 7" units at Target on clearance a few months ago - $32 each - and they made good Christmas presents. Reception varies by area. Denver good; Austin good; Lincoln, NE only one channel.
