Check out www.seatguru.com. Same seat width on both planes at 17.5", but 31" pitch on MD11 vs. 32" on 744. MD11 has seatback TVs for everyone. Only 3 of the 744s (according to SG) have personal TVs for everyone.

Depends on whether you're bringing your own entertainment or value that extra 1" of pitch.
