Don't listen to the naysayers here that you're more likely to see a unicorn flying a UFO than get an upgrade; I was 4/5 on upgrades as a 2P last year. But perhaps the upgrade rate, or at least the cynical estimation thereof, has change recently.
I'll mostly be flying between Hawaii and the mainland -- I understand chances are better on that route. Question though-- If I'm flying to the East coast from Honolulu with a layover in SFO or LAX is each leg treated as a separate upgrade opportunity? Or do they treat the entire trip as an all-or-nothing upgrade?
