Just surprised they forgot that little things like a thank-you help people feel like they are welcome and their business is appreciated.
UA does not do e-mail welcomes for achieiving new or renewing status -- yes that does seem odd.

You will get a mailed printed welcome package with your card in 4-6 weeks typically.

BTW, do not expect any new member promotions/discounts.
