I think that was Alabama, not Arizona. Thankfully we made it. In total we covered 3650 miles in 76 hours including two overnight stops, one in Austin, one in Palm Springs.

The back seat wasn't that uncomfortable for me as I'm only 5'8 but my 6' plus friend wasn't quite so comfy.
