I dont think there is a limitation that you can't get more than one bonus per one-way because my last below has given me 15k miles.
Delta Flight - DTW to BDL
Hotel A - Marriott Stay# 1 for 1 night
Hotel B - Marriott Stay# 2 for 1 night
Hotel C - Marriott Stay# 3 for 1 night
Delta Flight - BDL to DTW.

Initially Delta posted 10k miles for the first stays and then I had to contact the Delta Customer service and finally a Supervisor to get the third bonus 5k miles, which finally got posted as "Passenger Service Recovery Bonus Miles".

This week onwards I have two Delta flights and four stays coming up every week till end of Jan, shall keep posted how it works.
