The SkyWest plane is a United Express plane, operating on behalf of UA, not CO. Continental is nowhere in the equation, other than giving the OP a new (non-Continental) carrier to IAH.
But the flight was originally a CO flight. It's only after the merger became effective that CO decided to have UA do some regional flights. I didn't chose for the UA flight they decided to change it.
