Visa fees are the same for kids and adults.
Cool. The new childrens passport does have pages for visas and since the process of getting a 'correct' full fledged passport will take 4-6 weeks I'll try my luck with an updated photo pasted by the authorities.

Trafficking: both the US and German Passports we have are probably great instruments to import infant kids by the dozen. Our kids don't look like the pictures at all and are far taller and bigger than the average kids their age, but no one ever questions anything.

I'm aware of that, the Entry (X) visa for anything remotely smelling of a connection to a person that was or could be from south asia still requires a pilgrimage to the CGI Munich. That said, I never had any issues with that office, since I go in there knowing what to expect and how to behave.
