Hi FT!

I just achieved my first status, Silver Medallion (or FO as its called around these parts). I'm pretty excited about this but have read a lot of Skymiles bashing and now I'm wondering if I should try to status match with another airline.

I fly mostly for leisure. My home airport is TPA. For 2011 I see myself taking some domestic flights to NY, Seattle and Hawaii. I also may fly to Japan.

Long-term I'll be flying to Japan probably once a year (fiancee is Japanese). I also love South-East Asia so probably some flights to Thailand and Singapore (would probably want to cash in points for this).

I guess since I'll probably hover around Silver-Gold Medallion status, which lower-tier program is the best? I've heard FO's get pretty good upgrade success on domestic flights.

However, I've read UA is much better for Asian flights and ANA is a *A partner (which is my Fiancee's favorite airline). So I'm wondering if switching and getting *A points would be the way to go.

Any opinions?
