Absolutely. Express v local has got to be the greatest invention of the NY subway. When I lived in the city, I used to get from uptown to downtown in 20 minutes flat. Such a luxury!

The Tube is inconsistent - some lines are like clockwork (the Central and Piccadilly - usually - Lines) and are incredibly reliable. Others (basically every other one, but especially the Northern and District Lines) are slightly dodgier.

The brilliant thing about the Tube is that if you're delayed for more than 15 minutes, LUL are legally obliged to refund the cost of your journey and do so in the form of an electronic voucher sent to your residence within two weeks or so. This is really only practical for those of us who live in the UK, but man is it practical.
