Can you get a 7 day metrocard in DC? I know in NYC you can.
DC buses have bus stops with stop numbers. With your cell phone, you call the info number on the bus stop sign. The automated voice will ask for the bus stop number and the bus line you want to travel on. The automated voice will then tell you when the next bus arrives and up to 2 buses behind the one you want. You can also get bus arrivals real time online and also through an app for your smartphone or hand held device. NYC is installing electronic next arrival signs at designated "Select Bus Service" lines throughout the city.
DC does not have a 7 day metrocard. They sell a limited amount of day passes. They typically have paper fare debit cards and hard plastic re-loabable smart trip cards, which are on a debit and distance based system for Metrorail. Metro bus uses smart trip cards as a flat fare deduction.
