IMO, that's cutting it way too close for an international flight. Plus you will have to change terminals in HNL, and these are going to be separate tickets so the other airline won't even know that you are on your way. And what if that interisland hop gets canceled or delayed?

You might consider taking a late flight back to HNL the night before your departure to Sydney.

Kapalua is much closer to the Westin. It's a very small airport. Most flights go in/out of Kahului. It's a 45 - 60 minute drive from Kahului airport to the Westin.
