My AA seat selections were also dumped by QF at check-in for AA segments of SYD-LAX-ORD-DUB in August. I wonder if there is also a bug in the QF-AA software. The original seats could not be recovered in SYD and had to be corrected separately in LAX and ORD by very helpful AA staff.
Incidentally, my recent AA seat assignment was also dumped by JL when I check in for the first segment. The JL-printed boarding pass has a different seat number for my AA flight from what the AA reservation says.
