AA invested significantly in systems after a meltdown a couple of years ago and they're definitely good overall at handling this type of situation, especially if you have a smartphone and can both receive flight notifications and look up your revised itinerary after the system automatically rebooks you. I hope that whoever did the IT on this got a promotion!
