Kind of a downer travel year for me, kind of a great travel year for me.
I started on a new degree - in aviation - so I decided to let all my status lapse and not travel in the interest of money.
Before I enrolled in school, I had a trip to SXM and SAB booked with family. CO upgraded me to biz and it was extra enjoyable since I had met the captain in the hotel bar the night before. Cool guy who let me sit in the cockpit during the whole preflight. The twin otter to SAB was like nothing else. Fly at the mountain, bank left at the last second, try to not overshoot and fly off the cliff at the end of the runway.
Still, there were a very few business trips (one

) and I flew US for the first time on it. I did not hate US. So little in fact I booked a coach award on them to CHA in August.
In October, I landed a DL 757 on JFK 31L
With only three trips on the year, I thought I really was done with flying and all my status would go away.
Then the Expedia.ca deal came along.
On Dec 19-21, I flew BOS-DCA-PIT-CVG-LAS-CVG-PIT-MEM-LAS-MEM-ATL-PIT-BOS and have retained FO on DL for 2011, with about 7k rollover!!!!!
