Anyone who has the time, knowledge, and disposition to do so can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that if you are staying using an award, then you don't have to pay a resort fee, energy fee, or other miscellaneous per night mandatory fees. Call SPG and see if this can be straightened out before you leave.
