But when I go to Award Search, and input from LAX to AKL, for 10/5/2011, + 7 days, 1 seat, in F, and check off OW(BA) and OW(QF), no flights are returned. When I change F to Business and re-run, I get 5 flights, all of which stop in NAN and one of which stops in BNE also. I'm looking for the most direct flight from LAX to AKL (ideally non-stop since I'm starting in BWI and will have completed 2 segments already) (preferably F, but Business okay). Am I really required to go through NAN to do it with an award flight? If I'm way off base, please forgive me, I'm rather new. Any advice/direction would be most warmly appreciated. Thanks.
You are on the right track. QF doesn't fly LAX-NAN-AKL, only FJ (Air Pacific) does.
FJ is not in Oneworld, but since QF returns its availability, it follows that you can redeem on FJ using QF miles. However, if you are using other oneworld mileage programs, you will need to check to see if your program is a partner of FJ. If not, then you won't be able to redeem for that flight.
