After everyone is seated and the door closes, one of the FA's sees my bag in the overhead bin and tells me that since it is over 7kg, I would have to take it down myself. Fair enough. (In fact, that should be the rule! If FA's are concerned about injury, they should not be expected to lift overhead bags.)
They can tell the weight by looking at it when in a bin? That's very clever.
For 3 of the 4 flights you were eligible for 2 carryons + personal item.
Nothwitstanding AirNZ's varying interpretation of the rules, pushing the weight limit just seems to me to be sheer arrogance.
