The Gold Elite status is only good until February 28, 2011 unless you stay 12 nights at a Marriott within 90 of your enrollment, in which you would receive gold status for the whole year.
Normally, it take 50 nights to receive Gold Status, but you can sign up for it today.

Here's how to get your Gold Elite status for Marriott Rewards:
1. Sign up for Air China Phoenix Miles program, if you don't already have one, and get yourself a membership number (it's free), click here. You can earn up to 4,500 Air China Phoenix Miles for your stays with Marriott.
2. Sign up for a Marriott Rewards Account, click here. If you already have a Marriott rewards number please, click here.
3. With your Marriott Rewards number, fill out the top part of the form with your Marriott Rewards number to do so please, click here.
That's it. You'll get a email confirmation saying that you have earned Marriott Gold Elite Status in less than 2 days.
You must register by March 31, 2011. If you stay 12 nights at the Marriott between when your 90 enrollment period you will continue to get the privileges of gold elite status all the way through year until February 28, 2012!
Lounge Access Tip: You can save big on food and beverage cost with hotels that have lounge access. If a hotel doesn't have lounge access, some give food credits (typically $20).
